Episode 11: California Prop 65
Even if you don't live in California (which, you should think about it, it's December 4th today and 70 glorious degrees), you've probably seen the warnings: the ominous signs that proclaim in very uncertain terms that there's chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer...somewhere. These signs are so vague, so mysterious, so frightening--but at the same time, since they're everywhere...do we even really give a f***?
I decided to investigate these signs that are in grocery stores, public parks, and even in my own apartment building. It turns out that this law, like so many others, was written with the best of intentions but has morphed into something that's far from its original intent of consumer protection. The bottom line? Don't believe everything you read on a sign in the grocery store or on the bottom of a mattress.
Note for this episode: we recorded this before Election Day, when we, like countless others, were so sure that we were going to have a Madam President instead of a Pussy Grabber-in-Chief. Unfortunately, our chipper attitudes towards the election and the future of the country seem so distant now! Amanda and I have been making plans for our next four years, which you'll be sure to hear about on future episodes of BOTB. For now, we march on, sure in our positions and affirmed in our beliefs that hate will not win out. Smell ya later, 2016.
